I have been curious about this book for decades, having seen an illustration from it in a book of space art., and I was intrigued by the title. It must have been stimulating to young minds at the time for its fanciful descriptions of alien worlds(all of them inhabited, of course). It even uses a bit of actual science in its concept of using the gravity of different planets to "slingshot" through the solar system.
Sadly, it also shares the paradigms of its time (as does most writing). The Anglo-saxon race is the pinnacle of evolution, women are the weaker, stupider vessels, and aristocracy is natural and good, because they are bred to be so.
Still and all, it could be an interesting insight into the society that saw its publication. By modern lights, it's a social system that would inevitably perish in 1914, partly because of its own smug assumptions.
The dialogue is execrable, particularly between the bride and groom, so syrupy that the help at a Poconos honeymoon hotel would gag.

A Honeymoon in Space George Griffith 9781161417531 Books Reviews
A story in the manner of an old 1950s style space movie. The honeymooners travel the solar system and meet life forms on the moon, Mars Venus and the moons of Jupiter.
Early Sci-Fi...Going with the knowledge of late 19th century. Make for a quick read. WG Wellslike story. I have send story to my Youngest and her husband!
This book is charming with it's naive tale of space-faring adventure. Though the science is not exactly cutting edge, it is quite inciteful for the time it was written.
If you want Science Fiction this isn't it. The "science" wouldn't fool a smart elementary school kid. But...if you can suspend your disbelief for an hour or two you will find it a delightful read. Mr Griffith isn't Juelz Verne but it is a nice little tale.
Interesting read. It's kind of funny to read about the landscape being an unrecognizable blur while flying at the tremendous speed of 100 miles per hour! All in all a fanciful tale with a little real astronomy and science thrown in. Not bad for being written at the turn of the 20th Century!
It was fascinating reading a sci-fi work from that long ago (ca. 1900), and seeing what at least this author saw as possible in the cosmos. Although it was a rocky read at first, as the formal language of the day ands the author's style were difficult to get used to, I eventually got into the book more enthusiastically, and overall enjoyed the novel. I would recommend it to any die hard reader of this genre.
A delightful story of the exploits of a young couple and what they saw on the various places that they visited. Written in the turn of the century the craft leaves to the imagination what may occur.
